There are also medications you will be advised to apply while visiting house where pets live. Among these medications the following can be mentioned: antihistamines, nasal sprays, decongestants or appropriate asthma medications. But they can do nothing if the patient suffers from a severe allergy. And if your house is going to be visited by a person who suffers from severe pet allergy you should remove the pet from the house and do thorough cleaning. And if you suffer from severe pet allergy you should ask your friends to get ready to your visit by doing the cleaning. Otherwise the visit should not be paid at all.
All the medications applied can be divided into some groups:
• Relievers: these are quick-acting medicines that relax the muscles of the airways. They are used when required to relieve shortness of breath.
• Presenters: these act over a longer time and work by reducing the inflammation within the airways. They should be used regularly for maximum benefit. When the dosage and type of preventive medicine is correct, there will be little need for reliever medicines.
